(2020-2023)
a romhack of pokémon crystal made by me alongside my friends (froqpond, l0fithriller, mercurygel, hamandswiss, hexomori) in which all pokémon have had their designs and types changed!
fool's gold started as just a little project, but after it got picked up by some major pokétubers, it started to gain some traction, which was really exciting! in response, we added gen 3 pokémon, cross-gen pokémon from gens 4+, a whole bunch of new moves, and a third region (sevii).
in addition to custom spritework, fool's gold includes some new areas (in johto and outside), new music (original and arranged), new moves (from the main series and from our brains), and even a couple new features! aside from that, we've taken a lot of care to make the game feel like gen 2-- just a little refreshed.
i highly highly recommend playing completely blind! use whatever designs strike your fancy. fool's gold is a silly game that we had a lot of fun making and we hope you have fun too!
